Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s lively financial hub buzzing with energy. After your arrival to your hotel, enjoy a free day to recover from your journey or dive straight into the city’s vibrant and chaotic streets! In the evening we will meet for a welcome dinner and get to know each other.
Escape the city and head to the famous Mekong Delta in Ben Tre Province. Cruise along scenic waterways and visit local workshops. Sip tea with tropical fruits at a village home, then enjoy a Xe Loi ride or bike through picturesque lanes. A riverside lunch and serene sampan ride cap off this idyllic day before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
Step back in time at the Cu Chi Tunnels, exploring the fascinating underground tunnel network used during the Vietnam War. For the adventurous, crawl through narrow passageways to experience history firsthand. Then, we venture ahead to Mui Ne (3hrs), where tranquil beaches and stunning sunsets await—feel free to enjoy a cocktail as you unwind for the evening!
Begin the day at Mui Ne’s iconic red & white sand dunes, where you can slide down the slopes or simply enjoy the views. Visit the red dunes for striking photo opportunities, and join in on optional sand boarding (approx €2) or ATV/dune buggy ride (approx €30) and stop at a fishing village to watch local life in action. Explore lush dragon fruit farms before boarding an overnight train to Danang.
Arrive in Danang and transfer to the charming, ancient town of Hoi An, famous for its lantern-lit streets and riverside cafes. Spend the day soaking in its old-world charm, wandering through narrow streets and stalls, or relaxing on the nearby beach only 10 minutes away.
Spend the morning in Hoi An on the famous spinning boats followed by an authentic Vietnamese cooking class trying all sorts of delicious, traditonal cuisine. Enjoy a free afternoon shopping or strolling around the gorgeous lantern-filled streets.
Bid farewell to Hoi An after one last morning and embark on a scenic drive to Quang Binh, passing rice paddies and small villages along the way. Arrive in this peaceful region and enjoy a quiet evening to unwind at your hotel or explore the area’s local charm.
Enjoy a free morning or join an optional tour (approx €35) of the caves in this region. Discover the stunning Paradise Cave, known for its breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites. For thrill-seekers, the Dark Cave offers ziplining, kayaking, and a fun mud bath experience. Afterwards, we will visit the famous Duck Stop and enjoy dinner before boarding a nightbus to Ninh Binh (6.5hrs)
Wake up in Ninh Binh and dive into its natural beauty. Cycle through scenic countryside roads and take a sampan boat ride along the Ngo Dong River, passing through caves and dramatic limestone peaks. Visit the peaceful Bich Dong Pagoda, surrounded by blooming lotuses, for a moment of zen.
Set sail for Halong Bay on a VIP cruise ship experience, exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site. Kayak through lagoons, swim at secluded beaches, and soak up the views during a sunset party. Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars before a relaxing evening onboard your cruise.
Get your zen on as we start the day with a Tai Chi session as the sun rises over Halong Bay. Visit a fishing village to take a glimpse at traditional life in Vietnam, then enjoy a farewell lunch as your cruise returns to shore. Transfer to Hanoi for an afternoon of exploring the city’s vibrant Old Quarter or enjoying its famous coffee culture (best coffee in the world might we add!).
Spend your last full day in Vietnam exploring Hanoi’s charming streets and visiting landmarks, or relaxing at your hotel. Make sure to check out hotspots like Train Street, the Note Cafe or stock up on last minute shopping, and we may or may not finish the night with some karaoke!
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your journey home. Reflect on your incredible Vietnamese adventure and start planning your next trip!

FAQ's
A lot of our trips have an average age of 20-35. However, ANYONE with a sense of adventure is welcome (though must be 18+).
We primarily stay in twin rooms, sharing with other members of the trip, in 3 star hotels and guesthouses. While we strive to provide the best quality, clean, comfortable accommodation available in each location, please keep in mind that Craic On Travels is a budget-friendly adventure holiday provider.
If you’re looking for an ‘active’ holiday full of daily adventures and new experiences, then this trip is for you (there will be time allotted to relax also so don’t worry!). Our itineraries are designed to make the most of your time, offering unique experiences you might not consider on a typical trip, meaning there will be long travel days in certain parts. If you’re ready to explore, stay active, and step outside your comfort zone, then you’ll love traveling with us!
The trip will begin Ho Chi Ming and end in Hanoi. You can either book 2 seperate flights, or else return to Ho Chi Minh and a seperate internal flight back to Hanoi.
Craic On Travels does not organise flights, it is the responsibility of the customer to organise their own flights. We do make a group chat 60 days before the trip so people can co-ordinate their travels together if they like!
