Japan – Full Harvest: November 10th – 19th 2026

November 10th - 19th 2026

This is your invitation to come with us to experience the magic of autumn!

Our Japan trip in November takes place during peak autumn season, when parks, temples and mountain landscapes are lined with red and golden foliage. The cooler temperatures make it ideal for exploring on foot, whether that’s navigating Tokyo’s neighbourhoods, visiting historic districts in Kyoto, or travelling between regions on the bullet train.

A real highlight is staying in a traditional farmhouse, where you’ll experience rural Japanese life during harvest season. Enjoy fresh, seasonal vegetables grown locally and learn more about farm-to-table cooking in the countryside. Throughout the trip, we balance modern city life with traditional culture, combining food, history and everyday local experiences at one of the most scenic times of year to visit Japan.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Tokyo Arrival

Arrive in Tokyo and transfer to the hotel for check-in. In the evening, we will meet for an orientation with our local guide, offering introductions, an overview of the journey ahead, and practical travel tips for navigating Japan. Those who wish can join a short welcome stroll in the local area to enjoy their first taste of Tokyo at night.

The day will begin with a guided tour through Ueno Park, one of Tokyo’s most beloved green spaces and a hotspot for cherry blossom viewing. From there, we will continue on to Asakusa, an older district famous for Senso-ji Temple and the bustling Nakamise shopping street. The afternoon is free, giving everyone time to shop, relax, or explore the city’s many neighbourhoods at your own pace.

In the morning we will head to the Tsukiji Fish Market, where guests can sample fresh sushi and explore the lively food stalls. The rest of the day is free for self-exploration (one of our favourite parts of travel!) We will of course provide LOTS of recommendations.

Today we leave Tokyo for a half-day excursion to the iconic Mt. Fuji, stopping at scenic viewpoints and learning about the cultural significance of Japan’s most sacred peak. After this we will continue to one of our absolute trip highlights – a traditional farmhouse in the countryside. In the evening, guests settle into the farmhouse, enjoy a warm welcome, and share a homestyle dinner together. We will sleep on traditional futons on the floor.

This day is dedicated to the charm of rural Japan. We will have a hands on day harvesting local vegetables from the farm and collecting our produce for a BBQ. Later, we will take part in a hands-on local noodle cooking class, learning traditional recipes before sitting down to enjoy dinner together.

After breakfast we will travel by public transport to Kyoto, the ancient capital. On arrival, we will have a walking tour around the atmospheric Pontocho district, where lantern-lit alleyways and teahouses reflect the traditions of the geisha. The evening is left open for you to continue exploring Kyoto’s historic charm.

Today is so exciting – we start the morning with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, an intimate experience that highlights harmony and mindfulness. Afterwards, we will have a guided tour to visit the peaceful Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and the glittering Golden Pavilion at Kinkaku-ji Temple. In the afternoon we’ll have more free time to keep exploring!

Today we begin the day at Fushimi Inari Taisha, where thousands of red torii gates line the hillside paths. From there, it is on to Nishiki Market, where we will enjoy a guided tasting of Kyoto’s best street foods, with lunch included. In the afternoon, we will transfer by public transport to Osaka, Japan’s energetic food capital. The evening is free to dive into Osaka’s neon-lit nightlife and lively street culture.

Starting our last morning with a walking tour, exploring Osaka Castle, a striking symbol of the city’s history, before moving on to Dotonbori, a colourful district famous for its giant neon signs and canal-side restaurants. After a free afternoon, we will reunite for a fun karaoke night, a must-try Japanese experience that guarantees plenty of laughter.

Time to say goodbye (or rather, see you soon). After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and you can transfer to Kansai International Airport or continue on your onward travels.
