Itinerary
(subject to minor changes)
Day 01: Arrival in Antigua
Begin your adventure in the enchanting city of Antigua, the former colonial capital of
Guatemala. After checking into your hostel, gather with fellow travellers for a welcome dinner
where you’ll mee the rest of the gang. Savor local cuisine and get to know your new friends
as we kick off this incredible trip!
Day 02: Exploration in Antigua
Starting with a morning yoga class and included breakfast, the day is yours to explore Antigua, taking in the beauty of this UNESCO heritage town with
its stunning Spanish colonial architecture. Opt for additional activities like a cooking classes,
chocolate-making tour, or coffee tour for a deeper dive into local culture.
Day 03: Volcano Adventures – Acatenango or Pacaya
Fuel up with brekkie before beginning your chosen volcano adventure. We’re giving two
options of different intensities but both equally beautiful:
– Acatenango: A challenging (but amazing) trek up the now-dormant
Acatenango with stunning views of the ACTIVE Volcán de Fuego at the top, followed
by an unforgettable overnight camp near the summit watching the eruptions as you
drift asleep.
– Pacaya: A more moderate half-day hike taking you across an alien-like, volcanic
landscape with stunning views of Pacaya volcano. Returning by early afternoon,
you’ll have the evening to relax or explore Antigua at your leisure.
Day 04: To Lake Atitlán
After arriving back to Antigua (for those on Acatenango) or breakfast (for those doing Pacaya), we have time to shower before our transfer from Antigua to the picturesque Lake Atitlán (3-hour drive). Travel
by shuttle and boat to your glamping accommodation with simply stunning views of
the lake and its dormant volcanoes (did we mention volcanoes?). Enjoy your free evening
and meal (or spend it recovering from yesterday’s hike!).
Day 05: Free Day at Lake Atitlán
Kick off the day with a refreshing yoga class hosted by Isabelle. Then, hop on the lancha for
a daytrip to San Juan; another town on the lake. Here, we’ll be visiting a number of
cooperatives where you’ll get to observe the local chocolate, honey and textile; weaving industries
which aim to provide work for the local indigenous communities that reside at the lake.
Day 06: Exploring Lake Atitlán
After breakfast, we’ll have a freee morning to relax, sunbathe kayak etc. Then, in the afternoon we will head to Panajachel by boat to connect with a local women’s charity who are assisting the
indigenous population of the lake. Afterwards, you have the day free to engage in the many
activities the lake has to offer. Return for the family dinner in the evening.
Day 07: Journey to El Paredon
Depart for the beachside paradise of El Paredon. Upon arrival at your hostel, unwind by the
ocean and take in the beauty of the black sand beaches of El Paradon (bring your sandals!).
Day 08: Surfing & Relaxation in El Paredon
Kick off the day with a surf lesson in the Pacific and spend the rest of your time basking in
the sun, enjoying the hostel’s pool, and soaking up the beach vibe.
Day 09: Departure from El Paredon & End of Trip
Wrap up your adventure with an optional morning yoga session followed by breakfast. Check
out and take in the final moments of beach bliss before we say our goodbyes
