Booking Terms & Conditions

Craic On Travels (“we”, “us”, or “our”) value transparency and aim to provide clarity regarding our booking terms & conditions. Please review the terms below carefully.

1. Deposit Policy

To secure your reservation, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The price of the deposit may vary based on the selected trip. This deposit ensures your spot on the trip and allows us to make necessary arrangements, including securing accommodations and services with our partners. Due to these commitments, the deposit is non-refundable. If your booking is made within 90 days of the departure date then the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

2. Your Information

For us to finalise your travel arrangements, you just provide us with certain personal details. These details include but are not limited to: Full name as per passport, date of birth, nationality, pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your travel, and a photocopy of your current passport. These details must be provided no later than the payment of your final balance. For more information about how we treat your personal information please refer to our privacy policy.

3. Cancellation by the Customer

Our cancellation fee schedule reflects the actual costs and commitments incurred by Craic On Travels with our local suppliers, as well as the low likelihood of replacing a traveller by the time of cancellation.

Cancellation Fees based on time from departure (as a percentage of total trip cost):

  • 90 days or more before departure: Loss of deposit only. Deposit may be used as credit towards a future Craic On Travels Trip (valid for 18 months).

  • 90-60 before departure: 50% cancellation fee. Deposit may not be used as credit.

  • Within 60 days before departure: 100% cancellation fee. Deposit may not be used as credit.

There are exemptions to the above terms in Clause 4 & 6 below as well for certain trips as laid out in our Special Booking Conditions.

4. Cancellation by Craic On Travels

  • If Craic On Travels cancels the trip, we will provide either 1) a full refund or 2) credit towards a future trip. Credit is valid for 18 months from the date of issue.

  • If the minimum group size stated for a trip is not met, we will offer a full refund. The minimum group size requirement is outlined in the trip itinerary and may vary depending on the trip.

  • Any refunds due under cancellation by Craic On Travels will be processed within 14 days from the date of cancellation.

5. Changes to Booking by the Customer

Customers who wish to change their booking may request to use their original deposit as credit towards another trip (subject to approval). If approved, the credit will be valid for up to 18 months from the date of the original booking.

6. Force Majeure Events

In the event of circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or political unrest, which significantly affect the performance of the package or the ability to travel to the destination, you have the right to:

  • Full Refund: If the package cannot be delivered as planned due to such events, you are entitled to a full refund of all payments made towards the package, without any penalty or termination fee.

  • Alternative Arrangements: Craic On Travels will offer credit to the equivalent of the cancelled package (valid for 18 months). You may choose to accept this alternative or opt for a full refund.

7. Refund Process and Timeline

  • We aim to respond to all requests within 7 days.

  • Any refunds due will be processed within 14 days from the date of cancellation.

8. Passport and Other Travel Documents

It is your responsibility to ensure that you possess all necessary travel documents and identification for entry into, travel within, and departure from each country or region on your itinerary. This includes, but is not limited to, a valid passport, visas, permits, certificates (such as vaccination or medical certificates), and insurance policies as required by us and/or the relevant government authorities within the destination(s). Your passport must be valid 6 months after the date of conclusion of your trip with us as set out on our itinerary.

You are fully responsible for securing these documents and meeting all travel requirements prior to the start of the trip. Any costs incurred due to missing, invalid, or incomplete documentation will be your sole responsibility. Additionally, you agree to bear any financial loss or expense we incur as a direct result of your failure to obtain or present the required documentation.

9. Customer Responsibilities

  • Travel insurance is mandatory for all travellers and must be purchased before the trip begins. Your travel insurance should cover personal accident, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation, with a recommended minimum coverage of €200,000 for medical and emergency costs. It is also highly recommended that your insurance includes coverage for cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, and loss of luggage or personal belongings. You must provide your travel insurance policy number and the insurer’s 24-hour emergency contact number before the start of your trip. If you have insurance linked to a credit card or bank account, please ensure you have the details of the participating insurer, the policy number, and the emergency contact number, rather than just the bank’s name or card details.

  • It is highly recommended for all travellers to purchase travel insurance (i) as early as possible after booking a trip and (ii) before booking international flights for the trip to protect themselves financially in case of a cancellation by Craic On Travels.

  • Please note that international flights to and from the destination are not included in the cost of our packages. It is the sole responsibility of the traveller to arrange their own flights prior to the trip start date. Deposits will not be refunded to those who book a package under the assumption that international flights are included.

10. No-Shows & Drop-Outs

  • If you leave a trip for any reason after it has started, we are not obliged to provide any refunds for unused services.

  • If you fail to join the trip, join after the scheduled departure, or leave before it ends, no refund will be provided unless unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances prevent participation.

11. Payments

An initial deposit will be taken upon booking. Once the initial deposit has been paid, you will have two options for completing payment:

1. Pay in Full: You may pay the total trip cost at the time of booking. This payment includes the non-refundable deposit.

2. Payment Plan: You may instead opt for a payment plan, beginning with a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance will then be split into installments. Details of when each installment is due will be shown in your travel portal.

For both options, the deposit forms part of the total trip cost and is always required at the time of booking. Final payment deadlines vary by trip but are typically 90 days before departure.

12. Changes to the Itinerary

While we strive to adhere to the itineraries as advertised, Craic On Travels reserves the right to make modifications if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of any changes, we will promptly inform all customers. Any alterations will be made with the goal of maintaining, or enhancing, the quality and overall experience of the trip.

13. Optional Activities

Optional activities not included in our trip itinerary are independent of our services and are not covered by this contract. Any assistance or advice provided by our group leaders or local representatives in arranging such activities before, during or after the trip does not render us liable for the activities in any way. Contracts for these activities are exclusively between you and the respective activity providers.
